Mental Aid will host a charity fundraiser at Iconic Images Gallery in Piccadilly, London. Musicians that also possess a skill behind the camera will donate a personal photograph each. These will be affectionately listed as ‘Musician Photographers’. The work will be exhibited in the centre of the gallery and attendees will be able to purchase them on the night, with 100% of proceeds going to Mental Aid. This event promises to be one of celebration, charity and rock & roll.

The following portraits depict a
highlighted selection of musicians,
who also possess a keen eye and skill
behind the camera.
Our charity evening will offer for sale the
donated photograph of their choice at Iconic Images Gallery, with 100% of proceeds going to Mental Aid.
These musicians that convey a story through a song, also use the camera as a vessel to tell a tale.
Our Team
Mental Aid was founded by father and son duos Michael & Joe Goodall, and Tony & Max McGee. Their collective aim is to continue to support those in need whilst also spreading the awareness of mentall illness.
Michael Goodall
Michael Goodall
Michael spent decades in the music and fashion industries, dressing many of the household names from the 60s and 70s. Having achieved many accomplishments, he decided that he wanted to start giving back to society.
It was with this, he founded Mental Aid that would house people with complex mental health issues who are unable to live independently. Working with local governments and the NHS, this charity has housed and helped hundreds to move on to live their own happier and healthier lives throughout the years.
Joe Goodall
Joe Goodall
Joe started adult life in the Philippines, where he was working as an actor in television and film. He dedicated much of his spare time to helping the poor in society over there, whether it be feeding abandoned children in the nunneries, taking vans-full of take-away food into the slums, or even helping to build a school in the poorest area of Manila.
After five years, having returned to Britain, Joe wanted to pursue a career that contributed to society and decided on Supported Living for people suffering from mental illnesses. Through this, he discovered that many find it almost impossible to gain employment or earn financial independence due to the stigma of mental health issues and gaps in CVs. Thus, Mental Aid was born!
Tony McGee
Tony McGee
Tony McGee was educated in Chelsea, London. He left school to work at the Pinewood film studios, where he learned the technique of taking photographs on the move. He won numerous competitions and quickly turned professional, taking his first cover photo for Harpers and Queen at the age of 18. McGee began to work constantly, contributing to leading magazines throughout the world in London, Milan, Paris, New York and Los Angeles.
Tony has directed in excess of two hundred TV commercials and is credited as taking the first ever professional picture of Kate Moss. He also has an extensive collection of David Bowie photography he took after working with David Bowie on several occasions throughout his career.
Tony's charity work includes working closely with Mother Theresa and The Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta, India. The Missionaries of Charity is a Catholic centralised religious institute of consecrated life of Pontifical Right for women established in 1950 by Mother Teresa, now known in the Catholic Church as Saint Teresa of Calcutta. Tony has also raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Teenage Cancer Trust through his photography sales. Tony also works with boxing charity Head Guard which empowers young women and girls who have been sexually exploited, abused, and trafficked in places where they previously had no support or hope.
Max McGee
Michael Goodall
Max McGee is a multi award-winning actor and filmmaker from London. He is the co-founder of McGee Films whose productions include the Amazon Prime Video 'London Trilogy' of films: 'Shattered', 'Auto' and 'Thames'. The trilogy was awarded fourteen international film festival awards, including three Best Actor nominations for Max. He also directs television commercials and music videos.
Max's charity work includes raising tens of thousands of pounds for worldwide charities including British-Ukrainian Aid and Alzheimer's research UK, through endurance running. This includes running 300km to raise money for Ukrainian refugees. Max is also the creator of the Mental Aid podcast, a platform which gives Mental Aid's recipients a platform to discuss their mental health struggles and consequential triumphs. The podcast also explores the stigma surrounding mental health, particularly in young males.
Why We Founded MENTAL AID
Mental Aid was created to empower individuals with complex mental health challenges and past forensic histories often arising during periods of mental distress. We bridge the gap with the rest of society by providing work experiences, volunteer opportunities, purpose, and a profound sense of fulfilment to allow them to achieve their full potential without fear of judgement.
We don’t just support those with mental health challenges, learning disabilities, autism, and complex physical and mental conditions: Mental Aid is also proudly run by these very individuals. Our mission is deeply personal, and our commitment stems from lived experiences, making our efforts all the more genuine and impactful.
“Together, we champion the cause of inclusion and second chances.”
Mission Statement
Our Mission
To help people with mental health support needs create a better future through personal and career development.
Our Vision
To shape a better future for people with mental health support needs.
Our Values
How We Help
Our Clothing Bank Initiative is dedicated to aiding families with low income and the homeless. Our compassionate service is driven by our devoted volunteers, many of whom have personal experiences with mental health issues. We are proud to collaborate with Local Authorities and local charities for referrals, whilst also welcoming self-referrals from those in need. Together, we strive for a warmer, more inclusive community.
Since 2019, we have delivered thousands of food parcels to families on low income and homeless individuals. As we face increasing challenges and disparities, it remains our steadfast mission to alleviate hunger and provide essential sustenance to those most vulnerable. We work closely with partners like Pret a Manger's Pret Foundation to distribute unsold food to the hungry.
In the depths of mental health challenges, many find themselves in a lonely and frightening place. To address this, we designed our website to be a directory for free mental health services. Understanding the profound need for guidance and clarity, we offer free telephone advice to those grappling with such challenges.
Our Sponsors
We are privileged to collaborate with some of the world’s leading technological and financial firms. Together, we make a difference.
Moving Forward
Our evening offers a musician the chance to donate their personal photograph for our charity fundraiser as part of a select group of Musician Photographers. All photography will be displayed in the famed Iconic Images Gallery, London’s home of rock and roll photography, with 100% of proceeds going to the charity Mental Aid.
The night will celebrate the music and photography of these artists, whilst raising money to support those most vulnerable within our society. Mental Aid provides a vital lifeline for those suffering with mental health challenges, and the accomplishments of these artists serve as great inspiration for those we help.
